Mathematical Research Schools in Egypt: Collaboration and Future Directions
On the occasion of the International Day of Women in Mathematics, the Egyptian Women in Mathematics Association (EWMA), in collaboration with the Egyptian Mathematical Society (EGMS) and Nile University, is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the workshop entitled:“Mathematical Research Schools in Egypt: Collaboration and Future Directions”The workshop will be held at Nile University, Egypt, on 9 May 2026.في إطار الإحتفال باليوم العالمي للمرأة في الرياضيات: تنظم رابطة المرأة المصرية بالتعاون مع جمعية الرياضيات المصرية وجامعة النيل ورشة عمل في رحاب جامعة النيل بعنوان " Mathematical Research Schools in Egypt: Collaboration and Future Directions ".وذلك يوم السبت الموافق 9 مايو 2026Aim of the WorkshopThis one-day workshop aims to honor leading Egyptian women mathematicians, highlight the major mathematical research schools in Egypt and provide a platform for presenting recent research developments in fundamental areas of mathematics. One Day Workshop on Differential Geometry and its Applications, On the Memorial of the late Professor Nabil Labib Youssef
The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, is organizing a one-day workshop on Differential Geometry in honor of Professor Nabil Youssef. This event is part of the Faculty’s centennial celebrations, recognizing pioneers who have shaped its mission and distinguished reputation. He has a profound scientific legacy and a pioneering role in establishing a global theory of Finsler geometry and its applications in physics and mathematics. This workshop serves as a dynamic platform for researchers, especially early-career academics, to present recent work, exchange ideas, address emerging challenges, and foster collaboration. By doing so, it aims to sustain Professor Youssef’s inspiring academic heritage and encourage further innovation in the field. The program will cover core principles of differential geometry and its diverse applications, including algebraic geometry, geometric analysis, and theoretical physics. Special emphasis will be placed on advances in Finsler, Riemannian, and Teleparallel geometries, particularly their significance in modified gravity.
