Title:
From Classical to New Sources of Equational Domains

Abstract:
A group G is called an equational domain if, for every positive integer n, the union of two algebraic sets in G^n is also an algebraic set. Equational domains, which may be viewed as non-commutative analogues of integral domains, play a central role in algebraic geometry over groups. Identifying classes of groups that are equational domains is therefore a natural problem.
In this talk, we introduce CT and CSA groups, showing that the latter provides a primary source of infinite integral domains. We then describe finite equational domains and, finally, present new classes of groups that are equational domains.
