The Rising Star in Mathematics 2026

The Egyptian Women in Mathematics Association (EWMA) is pleased to announce the selection of Jannah Taha Darwish Abdelhafiz, a fourth-year student in the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, as the EWMA Rising Star in Mathematics 2026. She was chosen after receiving the highest number of peer nominations, in addition to achieving the highest cumulative GPA among the nominees by a clear margin. Jannah is recognized for her strong passion for mathematics and her solid scientific background, which reflect her dedication and academic excellence, and point toward a promising future in academia. She will be honored during the International Day of Women in Mathematics celebration, to be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Nile University.
